 ## About this video

Following the generation of the beautiful image of Spaghetti Bolognese with the DreamStudio module from the detailed prompt, there might be instances where the generated image resolution isn't optimal for certain applications. In such cases, the resolution and clarity of the image can become essential, especially when it's intended for platforms or mediums that require high-resolution imagery.

To address this, the AI Interpolator DreamStudio module is used again, this time to upscale the image. Using advanced super-resolution techniques, DreamStudio processes the initial image, enhancing its resolution while preserving, and even refining, the intricate details. This upscaling makes sure that the image remains sharp, vibrant and free from pixelation even when viewed in larger formats or on high-resolution displays. The end result is a high-definition version of the Spaghetti Bolognese that keeps its visual appeal across various platforms and uses.

*This video is from before the AI Interpolator module became AI Automators, part of the [AI module](https://www.drupal.org/project/ai). Module and menu names have changed since, and some steps look different today.*

- 0:00 hey there everyone uh so this is just a continuation of a video I just finished where I took uh title to generate a very expressive prompt to generate um uh image so
- 0:16 generating The Prompt via Prompt Perfect and generating the image via DreamStudio which is uh stable diffusion as API service from Stability AI the problem with this is that um
- 0:31 usually I mean there are models that creates bigger resolution but in this case it only generated a 512 pixel image which of course for modern uh websites is basically not enough so what I'm
- 0:45 going to show now is basically upscaling uh before I show that as always this is Drupal uh installed with AI Interpolator module soon hopefully there's going to be
- 0:58 description uh sorry a link in the description on how to set up Drupal if anyone is interested in that and how to set up the interpolator it's open source free you can set it up after you looked
- 1:10 at this yourself um so we want to upscale and we're going to use Stability AI uh service DreamStudio for this as well then so what we do is we go to the our recipe content type and we're just going
- 1:24 to create a new field here now then uh that's going to be called uh um well we call that the header image which was pretty stupid because this should be the header image I guess but uh we just
- 1:37 call it real header image you have to think of better naming and do some pre-planning when you set this up not like me in this case and we just need one uh we disable the alt field and then we're
- 1:55 going to enable the AI Interpolator and choose DreamStudio image upscaler so that's what's going to want to scale it up and there you can choose between uh scaling on width and height in this case
- 2:06 it was a cube so it doesn't matter but usually you scale on width I guess um there is something called down scale to upscale and the idea behind that is basically that um this tool or this API
- 2:18 can't upscale something that's larger than 1 24 uh which means if it's between 10,24 and what you want to upscale to it's not going to work but there is logic to
- 2:32 handle this so basically downscales it to 1024 and then upscales it to what you want um er also for your information then if you happen to upload a image that's
- 2:47 larger than 2048 it's just going to copy this it's not going to do a API call that cost money and so on it makes no sense right uh in our case we don't have to enable that because we know hours is 512
- 3:01 right so we're using the header image as our base field uh in this case we had already a chain of events that had a weight of 102 the last one so we set this to
- 3:16 103 save it then we can go to our content so you see real header image is not filled out the rest is filled out click save and if we look at this now we have a upscaled image right uh so this is
- 3:44 2048 I hope 248 pixels exactly um so this is upscaling one note there it's very good on AI generated images it's not as good when you use real images um uh it adds artifacts uh
- 4:04 especially on on Photo realistic images um so that's just a heads up so you know about it but um the result usually looks better than you know trying to upscale a
- 4:18 image yourself and it becomes pixelated at least uh so that's upscaling uh yeah thank you for watching

## The post in three sentences

A recipe image generated with DreamStudio is only 512 pixels, too small for a modern website. A new image field with the DreamStudio Image Upscaler rule scales it to 2048 pixels, with a downscale-to-upscale option for images larger than 1024 pixels. It works best on AI-generated images and can add artifacts to photos.
